Welcome to CathsCommunity.com. For many years now, I’ve had the joy of writing my own insights, joys, and Quiet Time Ministries breaking news at CathsBlog.com. But the Lord has been brewing something new inside me for some time now.
Cath’s Community is more than a blog, it’s a community. And not just any community, but specifically a place where you can deepen your devotion to God and His Word.
I’ve spent ten years now as Director of Women’s Ministries at Southwest Community Church in Indian Wells, California. And one of my main focuses in ministry is the development of a community of studies where we can learn from God’s Word and share with each other. Another focus is asking leaders to step out of the crowd and use their gifts to encourage others to read and study God’s Word.
Then, for the last fifteen years I’ve had the privilege of developing resources to help others get into God’s Word and experience God for themselves. The first resource was The Quiet Time Notebook, my very favorite tool in my own quiet time. Then, I began writing quiet times for others. One day, the Lord gave me the idea to put together a whole book of quiet times from the Psalms - that idea became Pilgrimage Of The Heart, my very first quiet time study book. Since that time, I’ve written 16 books, all with discussion guides and companion DVD messages. Each of these books is designed to be used on an individual basis or in a group.
And that brings me to CathsCommunity.com. I’m so excited that so many different groups throughout the world are using these quiet time studies to draw near to God. And in fact, over the last year, almost weekly I hear of new studies beginning. What a blessing! Combine that with the technology of the internet - I began thinking, “Wouldn’t it be incredible to have a place where others could choose a quiet time study online, join a group online, and share what God is teaching them. Wouldn’t it be amazing for a leader to choose one of the quiet time studies and connect with others in their group online! What about those who may not be close to a church where they can do an in-depth study of God’s Word, but have access to the internet.”
With the online technology available to us now, Cath’s Community has the goal of calling on leaders to lead others to read and study God’s Word in quiet time using one of the many studies available through Quiet Time Ministries, and as a result, seeing others experience a close, intimate walk with God. As more and more studies are made known here at Cath’s Community, then more and more men and women can join in, no matter where they live in the world. Cath’s Community is the place where a person can join in with others through the technology of a Blog, an online journal with the added component of Comments.
Cath’s Community is the place where you can join a quiet time study, enrich your quiet time, and grow deeper in your relationship with God. Whether you are doing one of these studies On Your Own or On Location (at your church or home), you can join in the conversation of that study. The leader of the study you join will write weekly on that study blog here at Cath’s Community. Then, others including you, who are in the study can share insights, questions, and observations through the Comments section of the blog for your study. Even if you are meeting weekly at your church, Cath’s Community is a place where you can share together online during the week. It’s also a place where you can use your leadership gifts, step out in faith, and lead a group online either with an “On Your Own” study or an “On Location” study (at your church or home).
